hi, does someone already write the VB code as suggested by “always better”? In theory it’s a good solution, but I’m not a programmer and would like to install a VB code in a quickstep….
Cheers from Holland, Roger!

Ps
Looking forward to a answer with the suggested code.

This rule will work with any version of Outlook. If moving to another PST file (say archive) then it will require being a Client side rule.

However this is a very weak design. Essentially you need a separate rule for every domain/folder combination. There are limits to Rules with Exchange (rumor not 365) however any amount of rules will cost in performance as the application has to process much more.

Microsoft has done very very little to improve rules over the years. I mean 5-10+. More can be done with the VBA and tied to rules.

In this case, it should be easier to code in options for any domain (say all @vendors.com)/ Folder combo. Even for a Quick step, that particular message, you click and the first time it asks for a folder (which vendor) and remembers the location. further 1 steps could always go to that folder unless no longer seen, and prompt again.

Rules. If abc.com go to the vendor/Abc folder. If example.com go to the vendor/example folder. Now with 1 rule.

adding "@" to the specified name would ensure you are filtering a specific domain.

In the example as well as (2 different domains) would pass through the filter.

When "@" is added to the specification "@163.com" the filter will let through all email from this specific domain.

After the rule is made additional "names" can be added to the rule.

Been trying to get this to work for months since company switched over & I finally figured it out. You cant have the @domain.com, needs to be domain.com. No idea why not but this worked for me.
