Re: Incorrect Information

Your recent online article titled "How to add sender domain to blocked senders list in Outlook?" at the url below completely ignores the actual problem.

You blindly rushed in to provide an answer without knowing the actual problem.
I will explain it and provide examples. The two examples below show what the original questioner asked about when he said,"...
they change the first part of their email address each time and ...also the subdomain." Since major spammers change the first part of

the e-mail address with every new e-mail as well as the part immediately after the "@" symbol and only use the same subdomain, spam filters do not have the correct format nor permit use of wildcards to block professional spammers. In the two examples below, only the subdomain "fi" is used repeatedly.

Since the spammers can generate an unlimited number of e-mail addresses to send spam, it is currently impossible to block the spammers' entire subdomain of "fi" as MS' current system does NOT allow use of wildcards to block spam. This has been a problem for at least four years and I have reported and complained about it many times.

To block the spammer above, it would be necessary to be able to block e-mails using the following format: *@*.fi or *@*fi .
If you can develop a system to do so, please provide it to MS Outlook developers as they are in dire need of it.

Exactly. I get thousands of spam messages from @build---, with unlimited letters, numbers and characters after the "@build." There are several other domain names like this, with a common set of initial letters. I am blocking 10-25 domain names every day just to keep up. This is getting unbearable.

The blocked domain function in Outlook is useless, come on Microsoft can't this be fixed?

yeah but spammers are getting snaky they are latching on to other real domains I may not want to block a real for sale site, like @gumtree. com, yet I get spam frem @tyrgfs.gumtree.com the filter wont let me use the two full stops!

and If I try to block @gumtree I loose my notifications and still get all the spam!
