Not what I wanted at all - just wanted to insert HTML directly into HTML formatted message

Hi, Mark, if you are in Outlook 2013 or earlier versions, click Insert > Attach File, in the popping dialog, choose the html file, then click arrow beside Insert button to choose Insert as text, then the HTML file has been inserted into boday of the HTML formatted message. If you are in Outlook 2016 or later versions (including 365), you need to enable the old Attach File button firstly. Click File > Options, then in Outlook Options dialog, click Quick Access Toolbar > All Commands > Attach File > Add to add the old Attach File command to the Toolbar. Then apply this added Attach File to insert html as text into body.

I prefer my attachments in the body of my email. Is there a way to change this in settings so you don't have to select the Rich Text everytime I compose a new message?

Hello, Anonymous, you can change the option as below screenshot shown, then you will write emails always as rich text, and the attachments will be always inserted in body.

Sorry, as so far, we only can insert attachments in body by changing the settting every time. Maybe we will developer a utility to satisfy this need.
